Blood Donation Drive | 17, 18, and 21 June | Register to donate

We are pleased to share details of an upcoming Blood Donation Drive organised in collaboration with the African Caribbean Society, as part of efforts to encourage more people to donate blood and increase the number of Black heritage donors.
Giving blood saves lives. Your donation can be a lifeline in an emergency and for people who need long-term treatment.
Blood donation remains urgently needed across the NHS. Every day, around 4,300 blood donations are needed to meet hospital demand. The NHS also needs more first-time donors, more young people aged 17–35, and 12,000 new Black heritage donors to help meet the growing need for ethnically matched blood for patients with sickle cell disease.

Important guidance for donors
Please attend only at your allocated appointment time and do not attend as a group. If you are waiting for a friend, family member, or colleague, please wait at a nearby location.
Please stay well hydrated for 24 hours before donating and eat before your appointment. If donating in the afternoon or evening, please have a full meal within 1–4 hours beforehand.
Photography is not permitted without donor and staff permission, and NHSBT branding should not be visible in photos without prior consent. Please also be mindful of other donors in the centre, keep noise to a minimum, and respect staff and donors.
Please arrive on time for your appointment, otherwise you may not be seen. Only the donor should enter the screening room, where they will complete a Donor Health Check and answer any follow-up questions from staff. Children are not permitted at the session.
