WHO’s campaign on World Patient Safety Day

No one should be harmed in healthcare. And yet, at least 5 people die every minute due to unsafe care in low and middle income countries alone!

WHO is launching a global campaign today, 17 September, on the very first World Patient Safety Day.

194 countries came together to establish this global day at the World Health Assembly in 2019.

Over 50 cities around the world will light up National monuments, bridges, hospitals, streets and buildings in orange color to show their commitment to keeping patients safe.
