Public Health Student Trip to WHOCC, London
This immersive 2-week [can be extended to 4-weeks] programme provides students with an opportunity to engage with experts at the WHO Collaborating Centre (WHOCC) in London. The programme is designed to enhance knowledge and skills in public health through lectures, discussions, and hands-on activities. Each week comprises 15 hours of structured teaching and learning, complemented by guided site visits.
Weekly Agenda
Week 1: Foundations of Public Health and Global Health Challenges
Objective: Build foundational knowledge in public health, focusing on global health priorities and frameworks.
- Day 1: Introduction to Public Health
- Day 2: Global Health Priorities and Integration of Artificial Intelligence
- Day 3: Public Health Policies and Systems
- Day 4: Communicable Diseases/ Infectious Diseases
- Day 5: Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs)/ Chronic Diseases
Week 2: Public Health Interventions and Implementation Science
Objective: Understand the design, implementation, and evaluation of public health interventions.
- Day 1: Health Promotion and Behaviour Change
- Day 2: Health Equity and Social Determinants
- Day 3: Monitoring and Evaluation in Public Health
- Day 4: Public Health Data, AI, and Surveillance
- Day 5: Public Health Research and Collaboration
