I applied to the Fellowship Programme at the WHO Collaborating Centre for Public Health Education and Training, Imperial College London, because of its prestige and leading role in public health research and education. This fellowship provides me with a valuable opportunity to engage with a scientific community, learn from world experts, and further develop my skills in clinical public health and preventive medicine.
The Centre’s Director, Professor Salman Rawaf, is a distinguished leader who has contributed significantly to public health at local, national, and international levels. He is widely recognised for his work in strengthening health systems and advancing service development, particularly in Saudi Arabia and the GCC region. I am deeply honoured to have the opportunity to work with Professor Rawaf and his team.

I believe Imperial College London is one of the best universities in the world, and being part of the WHO Collaborating Centre is a great opportunity to grow and achieve my goals in public health. The programme combines both hand-on and academic teaching, which I feel is the best way to strengthen my understanding of public health.
As a family physician and public health practitioner, I am especially interested in its focus on research, leadership and communication skills, and tackling global health challenges. I also see this fellowship as a chance to strengthen my knowledge and skills, and then apply them to address health challenges in Oman, particularly in improving the efficiency of primary health care and health financing.
