Workshop on Accreditation of Medical Education in Iraq
Professor Salman Rawaf, Dr Mays Raheem and Christina Banks from the WHO CC travelled to Amman, Jordan, to attend the Workshop on Accreditation of Medical education in Iraq on the 31st of March and 1st of April. The meeting attendees consisted of a highly distinguished group of international experts on medical education, leaders of medical and nursing education in Iraq, EMRO representatives, and ministerial staff. Dr Ala Alwan, Regional Director of the WHO-EMRO, skilfully led the varied and insightful proceedings which comprised of presentations, group work and open discussions. A clear vision and roadmap were developed during the course of the meeting to forward the efforts of establishing a medical accreditation system in Iraq.
