I am a double board-certified family physician working at King Fahad Medical City in the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh. Having graduated from medical school at King Saud University in Riyadh in 2006, I joined the family medicine residence programme in 2007. In the course of the latter, I spent four years of training in the field of family medicine at the Prince Sultan Military Medical City in Riyadh. During the residence programme, I have had the opportunity to engage in clinical training in a number of the capital tertiary medical centres.

Further, I have continued to pursue my career in the sphere of family medicine and successfully completed the Saudi board exam in the field in 2011 and the Arab board exam in 2012. Afterwards, I have accepted the position of an associate consultant at King Fahad Medical City.

Apart from my fundamental knowledge in family medicine field, I am quite informed in additional topics of the health care quality, patient safety, health policy and public health.

Due to the above mentioned interests, I have accepted the offer to join Healthcare Quality and Patient Safety Fellowship programme at University College London Hospitals in 2013. The programme lasted for a year, during which I had an experience of working as a fellow in the Quality and Safety department. During the time spent at the University College London Hospitals, I have used the great opportunity to gain additional knowledge and skills and have participated in numerous projects aimed at improving the health care that our patients received and at making the health care provided by healthcare organizations safer.

In January of 2015, I have joined the WHO Collaborating Centre for Public Health Education and Training at Imperial College as a fellow. I find the position to be a great chance to further enhance my knowledge and skills in the field of public health. Moreover, I expect that the participation in the departmental activities and research will also significantly contribute to the development of my professional skills.
